Owner password vs. user password

The owner password is required to change permissions or remove protection later. The user password is what someone needs to open the file. If you leave the user password blank, the PDF can be opened but full control requires the owner password.

Keep your passwords safe

QuakeStar does not store passwords. If you forget the password, the PDF cannot be recovered by QuakeStar. Save the password in a secure location before you close this page.

PDF password FAQ

Is the password stored on your server?
No. Passwords are used only during processing and are not logged or retained.
Can I remove the password later?
Yes, if you have the owner password. You can use PDF software that supports password removal.
Will the PDF content be changed?
No. Only encryption is added; the visible content and layout remain the same.
